Yeti | True Albino Teacher (TAT) Isolation P. cubensis
Glacial-white morphology from the TAT family line.
Yeti is a modern Psilocybe cubensis isolation from the True Albino Teacher (TAT) genetic familyābest known for strikingly pale fruiting bodies, heavy blue bruising, and āsnow-creatureā aesthetics. Frequently described as producing dense, thick-stemmed fruits with cool white-to-ice coloration and bluish/gray tones, Yeti has become a standout entry in many comparative microscopy and taxonomy collections.
Genetic Lineage & Historical Context
- Species: Psilocybe cubensis
- Lineage status: Isolation within the True Albino Teacher (TAT) family
- Reported origin: Discovered/isolated by mycologist Jik Fibs from albino āTeacherā genetics that became known as TAT
- Community circulation: Widely discussed and traded within modern genetics circles in the 2020 era
Yeti is commonly referenced alongside other TAT-family favorites (for example: Ghost, Wombat TAT, Jack Frost) and is valued for its distinctive albino phenotype and comparison-friendly morphology.
Visual Characteristics (Macro Morphology)
- Overall coloration: White to off-white āalbinoā presentation, often with bluish/gray tones toward the cap and strong blue oxidation when handled
- Cap appearance: Pale, matte to satin surface; can show cool-toned shading (ice/steel hues) depending on phenotype
- Structure: Frequently reported as stout and thick-stemmed, with a āmeatyā profile
- Bruising: Notable blue oxidation is commonly reported on contact points and damaged tissue
Microscopy & Taxonomy Notes
- Taxonomy note: As a P. cubensis line, Yeti is studied for how albinism impacts visible morphology while remaining within the same species-level identifiers
- Spore behavior (reported): Many Yeti phenotypes are described as poor spore droppers; swabs are commonly used for collection where applicable
- Why collectors like it: High-contrast pale tissue and strong bruising can make certain microscopy preparations and morphological comparisons especially visually distinct
Research Notes (Educational Context)
Educational and descriptive context only.
- Potency (reported): Often described in anecdotal community literature as high relative to many classic cubensis lines
- Common descriptive language: Frequently characterized as clear, immersive, and visually pronounced in experiential reports (anecdotal)
- Analytical relevance: A popular modern comparison point when discussing TAT-family expectations and phenotype variation
Cultivation Characteristics (High-Level Overview)
- Difficulty (reported): Intermediate (albino lines may show more variability between phenotypes)
- Growth behavior: Often discussed as producing large, dense fruits; phenotype expression can vary
- Environmental tolerance: Generally discussed as resilient once established, but more variable than classic landrace-style lines
For safety and compliance, this section is descriptive only and excludes instructions, parameters, or cultivation techniques.
Collector & Researcher Highlights
- TAT-family isolate: A recognized offshoot within the True Albino Teacher lineage
- Distinct phenotype: Noted for pale āsnowā coloration and strong blue bruising
- Study interest: Popular for comparative morphology and phenotype documentation across albino cubensis lines
- Abbreviation: Commonly referred to as Yeti (TAT-family)
Why liquid culture over spores (for research):
- Established genetics: derived from a modern, well-known TAT-family isolation
- Cleaner observation: minimal extraneous material for microscopy prep – Made in front of a scanned, 99.99% efficient HEPA filter
- Reliable morphology: ideal for repeated comparative study
- Shelf Life: 9-12 Months (Refrigerated DO NOT FREEZE)

Important Notice:
Once home, cubensis cultures should be kept in a fridge between 33-40°F to maximize their lifespan of 6-12 months.
Do not let your cultures freeze! While most will survive one freeze-thaw cycle, multiple freeze-thaw cycles will kill any live mycelium.

Great customer service great company
Matthew L. –
Culture was nice and thick, my grain jars are colonizing nicely. Will definitely purchase from here again.
John S. –
Fast shipping and ready to go syringesĘ??IĘ??m really excited to begin the grow. Thanks!
Scott A. –
I inoculated this plate 10 days ago. It looks ready to transfer already. I also did a 2 lbs rye berry grain bag it looks about 80% colonized, ready to shake the bag today.

Not worried at all about recommending CubeCulture to anyone looking for liquid culture. Great service and good clean strong liquid cultures.

Awesome liquid culture completely contaminate free.. best customer service in the game too!
Aaron T. –
Everything looks as it should.
Timothy S. –
Very aggressive, beautiful to examine

I donĘ??t know if itĘ??s the weather but these have been the slowest cubes IĘ??ve grown so far. I inoculated in the beginning of November of last year, transferred to bulk in beginning December, then transferred to tub at the beginning of January then started fruiting two weeks ago and IĘ??m barely starting to see primordia. Maybe I transferred it too much. My humidity is at like 90 most of the time and I got air flow. No contamination though which is great !!

Kamille T. –
Great company and awesome customer service! Will definitely purchase from them again!

Great product! I haven't ran it on agar, but it does look interesting. My microscopy skills will be vastly improved, now that I can study the mycelium, instead of only the spores. The medical research on tryptans (tryptamines) is leading us in the direction towards better treatments for severe migraines, and cluster headaches. I'm hoping that a simple mycelium wash, (running alcohol through colonized grains) will yield beneficial properties, without having to break laws in cultivation of a schedule 1 controlled substance. š

Awesome! Just awesome!!!

This syringe is amazing for all my research purposes. Fast fast fast. Way faster than the others I have from other providers. Two days later and I can see things happening. Looking very forward to watching this research project grow.
Just a word on CubeCulture since I left a scathing review before. I didn't receive one of the syringes I had ordered. After sending repeated emails and not hearing back, I left my nasty review. Well, I just heard back from CC yesterday, and they found my emails in their spam folder and immediately made things right. I totally understand how this happened and can only applaud the nice crew at CC for taking action to fix this and then for going above and beyond to make this right. They'll definitely remain my go-to supplier for all my mycological needs.

For an allegedly slower growing / colonizing strain I had tremendously vigorous colonization. Ordering process and delivery was smooth and professional. Will definitely be shopping here again.

This is my third time with the Yeti.
I’ve had a great experience with CC. They responded to me right away when I had questions.
Anonymous (verified owner) –
Still a beginner but im sure they will fruit with some time and patience!
Joshua (verified owner) –
Never grown yeti before so I canāt say if itās fast or slow or extra good or anything like that. It does seem aggressive when compared to others like starry night. Plenty of myc suspended but not chunky. Syringe was clean. Tested to agar.
David Mackey (verified owner) –
excellent strain.Enjoyed it very much.highly recommend for couples.
Chuck M. (verified owner) –
Fast shipping, inoculated grains already showing mycelium growth. Very happy with Cube Culture, 100%
